A Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday found inflation is now a top concern of Americans.

Rasmussen surveyed Americans on a variety of issues, and found 91% of Americans are worried about inflation, more than any other topic of concern in the survey. Last month the number had only been 87%. The rising concern coincides with the recent inflation report showing the rate had risen to 8.6% year over year, the highest in 41 years.

Core inflation, which removes food and energy, showed prices rising 6% year over year over the month prices had risen 0.6%.

The concern over inflation was bipartisan, with 97 percent of Republicans concerned, 90 percent of Democrats, and 88 percent of independents concerned. Among everyone, 69 percent said they were “very” concerned.

When asked about the economy, 89 percent are concerned, with 69% again, “very” concerned. And again, it is bipartisan, with 96 percent of Republicans, 85 percent of Democrats, and 87 percent of independents concerned.

The survey was performed June 14th-15th, questioning 1,000 likely US voters. The margin of error was +/- 3 percentage points.
